Service Questions

Q: What kinds of organizations do you serve?

A: We are focused on serving the office coffee market. Our specialty coffee and gourmet hot beverage service is available to companies, trade associations and nonprofits with at least 50 employees. We can offer other options, including selling or leasing machines, to smaller offices and organizations, so they can enjoy our delicious hot beverages as well.

Q: What areas do you service?

A: Our aim is to serve organizations in Metro Washington, DC and Virginia including Central Virginia.

Q: How much does the service cost?

A: We are comparable in cost to other major specialty coffee services such as Flavia or Keurig, though most people prefer the quality of our fresh-ground coffee and gourmet beverages. Our pricing is determined by working with you to understand your requirements and budget. Specific pricing is determined by volume and servicing requirements. View our different service approaches.

Q: I have a limited budget but I like the quality of your drinks? What do you suggest?

A: Barista on Demand offers different service options for different types of organizations. It is this flexibility that sets us apart from many other services. Before we give a client a proposal with pricing, we try to understand their budget and their requirements. Our machines can be equipped with vending units to allow your employees or customers to pay for part or all of the cost of their drinks.

Q: I already have a coffee service. Why should I consider Barista on Demand?

A: As we like to say, “When taste matters, Barista on Demand delivers”. We believe that our fresh-ground coffee and specialty drinks are better than the competition at comparable cost. But don’t take our word for it. Schedule a Free Employee Coffee Break demo and try the drinks for yourself!

Q: How long does it take to set up service in my office?

A: We can have you set up within one
to three weeks.

Q: Do you sell the machines?

A: In general, no. We will sell machines for home and small office use and to customers that fall outside of our full service area.

Q: How do you charge for your service?

A: For our typical office coffee service customers, we charge on a per-drink basis that is all-inclusive,
including ingredients, cups, condiments, and an agreed-upon service level.

Q: What maintenance is required for the machines?

A: Daily running of a pushbutton cleaning cycle, emptying the coffee pucks and
refilling ingredients.

Q: Do you have references for customers using your service?

A: Yes we do. Please email [email protected] and

Product and Machine Questions

Q: Once I get started, what if I need to order supplies?

A: We will set up an online supplies ordering procedure for you. It may take us a few weeks
to get a feel for your company’s volume, and then we set up an automatic ordering
process where supplies will be shipped periodically (with your approval).

Q: Do you provide cups?

A: For office coffee service customers, we provide cups as well as other accessories
such as stirrers and sweeteners. We operate on a one-drink, one-cup model. So for
each drink consumed on a monthly basis, we will provide an equivalent number of
cups at no cost. If the organization utilizes more cups than drinks, then the excess
cups will be billed at $0.15 each. For environmental reasons, we encourage our
customers to dispense the drinks into reusable mugs so as to reduce waste.

Q: How large are your drinks? Can you customize the size?

A: Our standard drink size is 12 ounces.

Q: Do you have a complete menu list of the drinks available from the machines?

Q: Are your ingredients Kosher?

A: Yes. Email us at [email protected] and include your contact info including phone and we will be happy to provide you the details.

Q: Do you offer decaf?

A: Yes.

Q: Do you have hot chocolate, chai, green tea and other non-coffee drinks?

A: Yes. And if you don’t mind us bragging, they are terrific!

Q: Is your packaging recyclable?

A: No, but our drinks are prepared individually with no packaging required unlike Keurig or Flavia.

Q: Can I set up automatic delivery of supplies?

A: Yes.

A: We provide contact information for you to reorder ingredients and we expect to offer this service online in the future.

Q: What maintenance is required for the machines?

A: Generally the daily maintenance process of running the pushbutton cleaning cycle, emptying the coffee pucks and refilling the ingredients is all that’s required. Periodic preventive maintenance is also planned by your account representative and communicated to you.
